On behalf of CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation and our beneficiaries, we would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the management and staff of Roshqott Energy Solutions for the most welcome and generous donation of R330 000.00 that was deposited into our account on the 30 January 2025. This is indeed a very kind and thoughtful gesture and is sincerely appreciated.
CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA is the only organisation in South Africa that provides comprehensive countrywide support for children with cancer and other life-threatening blood disorders, and their families. Our range of comprehensive support to affected families includes parent to parent support, counselling by a CHOC social worker, and practical support such as accommodation in CHOC houses nationwide, transport and recreational activities. In addition, the organisation creates awareness, particularly on the early detection of cancer in children, supports health professionals and upgrades treatment facilities into child-friendly environments and advocates for those whose lives have been affected by this disease.
Cancer treatment can take up to three years and without our programs many of our children would not be able to adhere or continue with their treatment.
It is at this moment that CHOC’s essential services are needed more than ever. We need to ensure that the children are safe, are able to attend treatment and that the parents and caregivers are relieved of the financial stress of having to provide food, protection and support to their sick child and families. The result is that we are seeing an increased need and demand for our services.
Our Beneficiary Base is greater than 99% black (African, Indian and coloured).
CHOC relies heavily on private sectors and individuals for funding and goods in kind to continue the work that we do.
